Richland is what connects the dots between Second World War, Nagasaki and an atom bomb. The monument is named after the Hanford Reach, and is the last non-tidal and free-flowing section of the Columbia River in the US. It is now home to 48 rare or endangered animal species besides some insect species that are not found anywhere else in the world.
