Places of Interest in Misawa The city of Misawa is located on the southern shore of Lake Ogawara, Aomori, Japan. The area surrounding the city is rural yet scenic. One should definitely take some time out to touch various sea species including starfish and sea urchins.
Lake Towada Situated within the Towada-Hachimantai National Park, Lake Towada was formed in the crater of an extinct volcano and covers 59.8 square kilometers. The depth of the lake is nearly 172 feet, making it the third deepest lake in Japan. Thousands of visitors are attracted here as the lake is surrounded by hills which are covered by trees. These hills are part of the Hakkoda Mountain chain. Campgrounds and hotels are located here for the visitors, who wish to stay for a day or two.
