Saint Vincent College is a four-year, coeducational, Catholic Benedictine liberal arts college in Latrobe. It was founded as the first Benedictine monastery in the United States by a German monk, Boniface Wimmer in 1846 and is now operated by the Benedictine monks of Saint Vincent Archabbey. Owing to its immense religious and historical significance to the city’s identity, a basilica inside it was completely restored in 1996 to commemorate 150th anniversary of the founding of the college.
