Places of Interest in Cuernavaca

Amanalco Canyon

Visitors can enjoy ecological walkways at the riverbed of Amanalco. There are hanging bridges and esplanades serving as lookout points. Visitors can also enjoy the interesting sound and light shows, musical events, open-air theater performances, guided tours, and workshops.
Cuernavaca Cathedral
Located in a large complex resembling fortress, Cuernavaca Cathedral is surrounded by a number of small chapels, and boasts restored murals. These murals in the cathedral demonstrate the influence of eastern culture. The construction of the cathedral took 2 years to complete. Considered one of the most significant tourist attractions in the city, Cuernavaca Cathedral forms part of a group of convents added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Borda Garden
Ideal to enjoy a pleasant walk near the downtown Cuernavaca, Borda Garden features a plethora of plants and flowers as well as swimming pools and fountains. Borda Garden is home to a number of cultural activities including literary events, photography workshops, dance performances, concerts, conferences, and film presentation for both children and adults. There is a small museum located within the garden. This museum is home to interesting exhibits related to art and history.
