Every evening, there is held a ceremony 'Beating the Retreat' at the border. In this ceremony, soldiers from both the countries march and mark the end of the day in the midst of thunderous applauds by the audience at both sides of the border.
Jallianwala Bagh In 1919, a huge number of people gathered to demand freedom from the British rule. Under the command of General Dyer, British soldiers fired randomly on the helpless public resulting to death of hundreds of men, women, and children. The site marks the agonizing story of cruelty. There is a memorial well at the site. In this well, many people jumped to escape the brutal firing. At Jallianwala Bagh, there is the Martyr's Gallery telling the story of the massacre.
