Marine Drive
Marine Drive is a 3.6-kilometre long, C-shaped, six-lane boulevard along the coast in Mumbai. It links Nariman Point to Babulnath and Malabar Hill and is flanked by a scenic promenade. The Marine Drive is also called the Queen's Necklace because when viewed at night from some distance, the street lights here look like a string of pearls in a necklace. This drive is also the site of an annual international marathon called the Mumbai Marathon.
ISKCON Temple, Mumbai
The ISKCON Temple in Mumbai (also called Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari ji Temple) is located in Juhu area in Mumbai. A subject of grand architectural artisanship, it is built in 4 acres of land and is located close to the Juhu Beach. Its construction was inspired by the founder- acharya of ISKCON (Swami Prabhupada) who personally installed the statues of Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai, Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari, and Sri Sri Sita Rama Laxman Hanuman. The temple also houses a spacious library called ‘Heaven on Earth’ featuring spiritual books and a multi media section.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (formerly known as Victoria Terminus) is a historic railway station and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mumbai that serves as headquarters of the Central Railways. This 18-platforms strong railway station is a classical masterpiece of Victorian Italianate Gothic Revival and classical Indian architectural styles, built in 1887 to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
Best time to fly to Mumbai
Mumbai is a year round tourist destination. However, the best months to visit this city are autumn and winter months from October to March. This season peaks in late August and early September as the city celebrates its biggest festival - the ten day long Ganesh Chaturthi. Budget travelers can visit Mumbai in the monsoon season from June to September.
