The park is built alongside Rawal Lake, which is an artificial reservoir that fulfills the water needs for Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Islamabad Zoo
Islamabad Zoo, counted among the most popular tourist attractions in the city of Islamabad, was opened in 1978. It is a large and verdant zoo spread in an area of about 82 acres. In the Islamabad Zoo, there are scores of animal species available for public view such as Chinkara, Zebra, Black Kite, Leopard, African and Asiatic Lion, and Indian Peafowl.
