Dakshineswar Kali Temple
The Dakshineswar Kali Temple is a prominent mid-19th century Hindu temple located along the Hooghly River in Dakshineswar near Kolkata. Its presiding deity is Bhavatarini, an aspect of goddess Kali and is believed to be the one to liberate her devotee from worldly desires. The temple features 12 shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and a temple of Lord Krishna and His consort, Radha. Architecture enthusiasts would notice that this temple is a classical triumph of subtle aspects of Bengali architecture with her nine-spired pointed top.
Howrah Bridge
Kolkata’s postcard beauty, the Howrah Bridge is the busiest and sixth-longest cantilever bridge in the world. It also used to rank as the third-longest cantilever bridge at the time of its construction. this icnic bridge has a suspended span over the Hooghly River in Kolkata and was commissioned in 1943. 22 years later, it was renamed Rabindra Setu in honor of the first Indian and Asian Nobel laureate and famous Bengali poet- Rabindranath Tagore.
