Desert Botanical Garden
The Desert Botanical Garden is located in Papago Park in Phoenix. It was established in 1939 and is home to over 21000 plants across more than 4000 taxa. This remarkable number includes about 1300 native, rare, threatened or endangered plant species. Visitors can take out time for agave plants (176 taxa) and cacti plants (10350 plants in 1350 taxa). There are also many other variants of plant species that are foreign to desert climate and are thus kept under shade houses.
Heard Museum
The Heard Museum focuses on American Indian art. This museum is located in Phoenix and is focally known for its compelling style of telling the story of American Indian people from a first-person perspective and through numerous exhibitions of traditional and contemporary artworks made by local artists. It is home to over 40000 artifacts, central to which is Mareen Allen Nichols Collection containing 260 pieces of contemporary jewelry and the Barry Goldwater Collection with its 437 historic Hopi katsina dolls.
