Golconda Fort
Located at a distance of around 11 kilometers west of Hyderabad, Golconda Fort is a historic fort one known to be a landmark governing the destiny of South India. The fort is perched in the land at around 400 feet elevation. One of the biggest fortresses in Deccan Plateau, Golconda Fort is the greatest architectural wonder of the city. The fantastic acoustic effect of the fort makes it an engineering marvel of the history.
Charminar
Built in 1591, Charminar is a monument and mosque that has become a global icon of Hyderabad. This monument is one of the most recognized structures in the country. This monument was built by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, the fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. Every minaret of the monument has four stories with a carved ring. From the top of the minarets, visitors can enjoy imposing view of the city. There are 45 prayer spaces for devotees. Towards the west end of Charminar is located Mecca Masjid, which is one of the oldest mosques of South India. Laadi Bazaar is located on the east of the monument. This market is famous for its pearls, traditional glass bangles, and bridal wear.
Nehru Zoological Park
Opened for public in 1963, Nehru Zoological Park is also named as Hyderabad Zoo. It is an excellent place to visit for animal lovers. The zoo is home to about 250 fauna species. All the animals in Nehru Zoological Park are kept in their natural environment. The zoo spans in an area of around 300 acres and boasts fauna species such as Indian rhino, Indian elephant, Bengal tiger, panther, python, gaur, Asiatic lion, and more. The zoo is also home to a number of bird species. In addition to this, Nehru Zoological Park also includes attractions such as Toy Train, natural History Museum, Butterfly Park, Aquarium, Children's Park, and Jurassic Park.
Best Time to Fly to Hyderabad
Hyderabad sees typically four seasons i.e. summers (from May to July), monsoon (from August to October), winters (from November to February), and early summers (March and April). Summer is usually hot & humid and it becomes difficult for tourists to step out. Thus, one should avoid visiting this city during summers. Early summer is another fine duration to visit the city as the weather gets warmer but not too hot and humid. Monsoon is in general considered as an off-season for tourism in this city, however, it is a lovely period to enjoy sightseeing amid showers. The weather in this season fluctuates between cool and sultry. Winter is considered as the best time to visit Hyderabad and the city remains crowded with tourists during this season.
