Marina Beach

Marina Beach’s stunning promenade is a visitor’s delight and is dotted with statues of noted historical figures like Mahatma Gandhi, Thiruvalluvar (a famous Tamil poet) and Bharathiyar (pioneer of modern Tamil poetry).
Government Museum
Government Museum is mid-19th century institution spread across 6 buildings and 46 galleries that together represent historical artifacts mostly related to archeology, numismatics, palm-leaf manuscripts, natural history, sculptures and paintings. This museum also includes Connemara Public Library and National Art Gallery, the latter flaunts one of India’s finest examples of Indo-Sarcenic architectural styles.
Parthasarathy Temple
Dating back to 8th century, the Parthasarathy Temple is considered to be one of the oldest (if not the oldest) temple in Chennai. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna and was built by several ruling dynasties over next seven centuries. Its name is derived from two Sanskrit words Partha (implying Arjuna) and Sarathy (the Charioteer or Lord Krishna). This temple centrally features five avataras (or incarnations) of the deity Vishnu.
