Neuschwanstein Castle
Neuschwanstein Castle (or ‘New Swanstone Castle’ in English) is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace, an acclaimed signature of Romanticism era in Germany and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. Located on a rugged hill, this castle was a dream project of King Ludwig II of Bavaria who could sleep here for 11 nights only.
Marienplatz (or ‘Mary's Square’)
Munich’s main square since 1158 AD, Marienplatz played host to host markets and tournaments through many subsequent centuries. This central city square was named after a 16th century Marian column that was erected here to celebrate the end of Swedish rule. The Marienplatz is flanked by the New City Hall and the Old City Hall, and a famous market called Christkindlmarkt opens here 3 weeks before Christmas every year.
