Hyderabad is primarily served by Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. It is located in the village of Shamshabad, about 22 kilometers away from the city. This airport has replaced the former airport at Begumpet, which is reserved for dignitaries and VIPs. A star highlight here is an interactive fountain called the Fountain of Rings that plays computer-controlled and musically-synchronized lights and jets of water.
