Lalbagh or Lalbagh Botanical Gardens

Bangalore Fort

Originally a mud fort, the Bangalore Fort marks the founding of the city of Bangalore by feudal king Kempe Gowda in 1537. This mud fort was made into a stone fort in 1761 but was captured by the British forces in 1791 who then dismantled it until 1930 to make way for roads, arsenals and barracks. The Bangalore Fort is only survived by its Delhi Gate and ruins of two bastions.

Cubbon Park

The Cubbon Park is the most popular green area or the 'lung' of Bangalore. It first saw daylight as a 100 acre park in 1870 but has subsequently expanded to thrice that size ever since. The park features a wide range of flora and fauna species, and is dotted with several monuments and statues raised in the honor of famous personalities.
