Explore Baltimore
Founded in 1729, Baltimore is the largest city in the U.S. state of
Maryland and the second-largest seaport in the Mid-Atlantic. Its port,
called the Inner Harbor, was once the second-most significant port of entry
for immigrants to the United State. The city has played home to famed
authors like Edgar Allan Poe and baseball star Babe Ruth, besides being the
place where Francis Scott Keys poem The Star-Spangled Banner that later
found its way into the national anthem. Another interesting aspect of the
city is that it was a booming beer-centric city from early 19th
century to mid-20th century.

hostile forces until it was replaced with a larger garrison flag of US
forces, this underscoring the defence of the fort and a consequent victory
of the US.
