Things to do in New York City

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture and the fingerprint of New York City and the US. This late 19th century copper statue was gifted by France to the people of the United States in 1886, and is a classic masterpiece built by Gustave Eiffel. A miniature version of the same statue was subsequently gifted to Paris by the American community in France. The Statue of Liberty depicts Libertas, the Roman goddess of liberty who holds a torch in her outstretched right hand and carries a tablet inscribed with the date of the U.S. Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776) in Roman script.

Chrysler Building

The Chrysler Building is the world’s tallest brick building with a steel structure. A classic triumph of Art Deco architecture, this 1046-feet high superstructure was the world's tallest building for about 11 months before it was overtaken by the Empire State Building in 1931. The Chrysler Building is hallmarked by about 50 ornaments that overhang from the building's corners at different positions, a style signature followed in Gothic cathedrals.

Central Park

Established in 1857, the Central Park is the most visited urban park in the United States and one of the most filmed locations in the world. It spans over 840 acres to include 21 playgrounds, 48 fountains, 36 bridges and 29 sculptures. One can also attend the country’s oldest free classical music concert series- the Naumburg Orchestral Concerts (founded in 1905) in the park’s only neoclassical building- the Naumburg Bandshell.

CheapOair Customer Reviews

Eugene OR

My trip was planned perfectly, from flight to accommodations. I'll be visiting again in the Spring and using CheapOair to plan again. Very satisfied! - Steven  Dec 12, 2024

Greece Getaway

My first experience with CheapOair was very good! The reservations made to fly to Greece had smooth connections at each airport. I was hoping for the ability to watch the reservation price and adjust it as the trip got closer, but once I locked in my reservation, the price couldn’t be changed. Text messages from them were clear and kept me informed on the flight plan! I would rate this experience as very good. - Bette  Dec 01, 2024
