Spirit knows that lots of customers want low fares. They make that dream a reality every day by selling a simple, stripped-down Bare Fare™, meaning that nobody gets stuck paying a much higher fare, which (on other airlines) includes lots of expensive extras that you may not really need.
If you want one to kick your flight experience up a notch, Spirit gives you Frill Control™, to let you choose just those services you actually want to pay for – like a carry-on, checked bags, or seat assignments, while keeping total the cost of your Spirit trip much less (up to 40 percent less) than the other airlines. With Spirit, you have a lot more control over what you spend and save. So you can fly to more places, more often or just have more cash in your pocket when you land.
What you need to know when flying Spirit:
Spirit is the Home of the Bare Fare
Spirit’s fares are fully unbundled. No “free” bags. No “free” drink. Other airlines bake those options right into their ticket price, making you pay more. A ticket with Spirit gets you and a personal item from A to B. Everything else is extra.
What to Know About Spirit ’ BIG FRONT SEAT
Anyone booking Spirit flights can also reserve their BIG FRONT SEAT. It’s an affordable way to fly first-class to domestic destinations. These leather seats have added conformability with their executive-style design. The seat is 25% larger and offers 35% more legroom. And since they’re located in the first two rows of the airplane, those who book them for their Spirit Airline flights will have the perk of boarding in group 2. All other processes for your spirit airline flight will be conducted like business as usual. Consumers still must pay regular fees for their carry-on bags and have to purchase food and beverage.
Need a carry-on or checked bags? Buy them early and online at Spirit.com
One personal item is included in the Bare Fare - something
like a small backpack - that can fit entirely in the smaller sizer box
(16” x 14” x 12”). Another personal item or anything larger, like a standard
carry-on or checked bag, is a little extra.
If you know you’re going to need a checked bag or carry-on, buy it early
and online at Spirit.com to save major Moolah. You can't purchase bags when booking here (yet), but you can go to Spirit.com to add them to any confirmed reservation.
NOTE: Spirit is one of the most fuel-efficient airlines in the country, saving you money on gas. They earned this title by making a hard choice: limiting checked bag weight to 40lbs. They know it’s annoying. But when you pack light, you’ll save heavy.
The Big Front Seat™
Spirit is a little cozy on legroom, but offer the BIG FRONT SEAT. Wider seats, no middle seat, more space, extra legroom–you know, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Travel Insurance
Trying to resell tickets would raise fares, and Spirit is trying to save
everyone money! Insurance is available to protect you from the unexpected at Spirit.com.
